Is Your Brain Able To Develop and Recover?

It has long been believed inside the scientific community that you are stuck with the mental capacity you’re born with. That the brain really is determined.

Can brain games work?

Thus one of the first matters parents with impaired minors are recommended to do when they learn their infant will be disabled is to attend classes on how to grapple with it. But is this position still applicable now?

Biological science has came a long way since 5 years ago and today, biologists have discovered the human brain is, in point of fact, highly plastic. Put Differently, it’s not all about nature – nurture does represent a purpose. A significant one at that.

Can brain games work?

Look at the example of Michelle Mack. No one actually discovered what happened, only when she was in her mother’s womb, her left mental capacity never developed and as a result she was born with 50%a brain. She was physically level-headed- so much so her physicians didn’t recognise she only had only a part of a brain.

She did learn to walk and talk a wee slower than regular babies do and as a grown woman, she got lost easily but she experiences a relatively normal life. She is able to speak normally except when disappointed and she has fantastic memory. Question her what day was whatever date between today and mid 1980s and she will be able to tell you the exact answer.

How did that happen? If our brain were determined, shouldn’t Michelle be clambering to come through when she was born? I mean, she was devoid of her whole left hemisphere, which theoretically means the right side of her body shouldn’t be able to make a motion.

It wasn’t until 2 decades into her life that brain scans were manufactured and neurologists determined what was faulty. By then Michelle’s brain has accommodated to its problems. Her parents constant encouragement allowed her brain to learn how to best make use of her restrained resources.

I believe there are two matters you can learn from Michelle’s story. One: your genetics do not necessarily determine your mental ability. Two: If Michelle can overcome such a drastic disability, wouldn’t you be able to do much better?

If the brain of a young woman with untold” disability” was able to adapt to its surroundings so well… how much more acceptable a job do you think a normal person’s brain can do?}
